Gemtlemen, recently obtained a nice example of a Lefever D grade
ejector, some CC, circa 1905. I'm thinking a bit unusual as it has 32" Krupp barrels, F&F, and a quite high dimensioned straight grip stock. The downer ( and there always is one...), it has a
ghastly, ventilated, white line pad, which has to go. What would be an acceptable alternative ie would a solid Silvers type pad have been used in that era?? Any suggestions appreciated. Also could use a price check. Not really up on Lefever values. Thanks

Terry, yes, the Silver pad was the only one commonly available in that era.

I had Buck Hamlin fit a Silvers pad to my Lefever G grade ejector gun. When he fitted it he took the extra time to radious the pad in the old style and it looks absolutely fantastic.

What is the proper radius in the old style?

Don't know, but I have Parker order references to guns with "Silvers Recoil Butt" in December of 1896 and January of 1898.

It was patented by Hugh A. Silver in 1875.
