It has just a touch of engraving on both sides, setter like dogs in a field.
He has wanted a 16 NID for a while, but, most are priced a bit more than this. Where do you find $1000 16 gauge NIDs with no issues? 12s maybe, but the 16s and 20s are getting weird.

The dogs are roll stamps, it's a Field Grade.
Roy's auction reports show a restocked NID 16 sold for $450 in Nov., one listed as 'EX" condition for $950 in Sep. (of course it may have had hidden issues also), a restocked, reblued for $470 in July.
I think that $1000 for a reblued gun with a cracked stock that's been revarnished is high, but as I said, if he's happy....
