It's amazing, well, actually not, the crap you folks yap about. those things are a dime a dozen guns and that one was anything but museum quality. I mean, WGAF ???? So the guy made a pig's ear out of a pig's ear. BFD
And AFA the "Americanized" meathead appellation goes, the first so-called beavertails and monte carlo combs were on MOSTLY BRIT MADE pigeon guns IIRC but I suppose claiming it as Mercan is somewhat patriotic.. And just 'cuz it's ugly doesn't make it "American" either. I give you countless German guns as evidence, past and present.
I gotta give it to you folks - you make me laugh a lot.

I and others disagree - strong, sleek, and a very innovative and simple design.

I think we need to complete this guns journey into an American gun. The barrels look too thin to have proper screw in chokes installed. But there is always the porting option. Let us drill a few hole in both barrels. Also see if we can remove the forcing cones. Maybe ream out the chambers to 3". Camo is a nice color for a gun if you can not have it Parkerized. Also it needs a white line recoil pad to bring off the look we want.
If you think it is bad now think of how bad it could get in the hands of the wrong owner.

You're leaving out the option to paint it day-glo pink....

Dave you can only use that color during breast awareness month. How about a high gloss finish to make it shine.

As Gertrude Stein once said, "A gimmick is a gimmick is a gimmick".
Stuck with this butchered French gun, the dealer realized he had to pitch it in some way that could be construed as desirable before he cast his net on the waters, hoping to find at least one stupid fish.
The fact that this was the best way he could come up with says a lot about the gun AND him.

Ok on the high gloss. You must be getting old; at the risk of taking the thread to a strange an inapposite place, I'll remind you that every month is breast awareness month.

I am an American with a penchant for straight grip English doubles. However, I do hold a love in my heart for a Model 21----w/ American attributes. To me a M21 does not look right with a splinter and double triggers.
To me the sexiest 21 I could imagine would be straight gripped 20, BT,ST chk'd butt, vent ribbed 28" WS-1,WS-2, all the things that would look like hell on a British SxS, but almost looks just right on a 21.
In fact if anyone is selling one---I am a buyer---all day every day

The Bowlachilli (er Perazzi) is probably doubling again. I think I'm qualified to speak to the innards of the Ideal as with a bit of help from Jean Charles' translational services, I put a new lever return spring in mine. The Ideal is, as Post Oak remarks, "innovative". A lot has been said in the past about French manufacturing sleepily waiting around for someone to eat their lunch. This one didn't make the design menu for the Brits so of course it has to be inedible, right? Don't think so. jack
