Thanks Mike. Your Wonderful post is a big help to me. I started by repointing some of my old guns and found I enjoyed it. I then started refinishing some stocks and decided to repoint before working on the stocks so that I could save the old lines figuring I could do a final repointing after finishing. That has worked out well.

I am now starting from scratch on an old stock that had no useful lines salvageable. Your post is a huge help and is appreciated.

As I get older, I find that my terrific eyesight is not what it used to be even when using those magnifying reading glasses I was picking up at Costco.

I have been using one of those black magnifiers with the strap that goes around your head that you see on a lot of gun shop sites. It gives me a headache half the time. I think those clip ons that you show in the picture would be helpful. Can you tell me where you got them since I have never seen them in stores. Also, do they have different focal lengths so you don't have to have your nose in the stock while working.

Thanks,
Milt
