Yes, but it is nice to have a stable straining at the bit. What ever winds your clock.

To put this discussion into perspective: When it comes to guns, cars, or any of the other fine and enjoyable items in our lives, I keep reminding myself that I'm just a temporary caretaker. My older guns had at least one and probably several previous owners. We can't take any of this stuff with us when our time comes. However; I'm hoping that we can at least take our memories. Jim

Taking our memories, Jim, yes. For many of us, it's consolation we've seen the best of it.

Be nice if you had enough money left to buy a young blonde for the passenger seat ?

Not why most of us do this but in 10 years the car will be worth less than a third of what he just paid.
His gun collection would likely have risen in value. You're right but Corvettes tend to run value wise as an inverse bell shaped curve. Prices tend to go down for the first 20 years then start back up again. This has been true for generations C1 thru C4 and I expect it will eventually happen to later generations as well. I sure wish I had just kept the earlier Corvettes I've owned over the years as financially they sure as hell would have outperformed my IRA. Jim LOL, That's why I wish I had kept my 1967 RS/SS Camaro convertible, my 1972 Pantera, my 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV, my 1972 E-type V12 convertible and a number of others. However, at some point I decided it was easier to store the guns than the cars and sailboats I had previously been consumed by. Re-reading my first comment reminds me that it wasn't clear that I supported the OP's move. Was more relating it to my own experiences. Hope he's happy, sure he is and I love 'vettes.
The world cries out for such: he is needed & needed badly- the man who can carry a message to Garcia

I'll stick with my old Mercedes and keep all of my guns. When one set of barrels gets hot I'll grab another set.

I think I know the Blonde, but she is for rent, not for sale...

Hey, at least you got to call the shots and got the right prices. 8 years ago I HAD to sell 95% of my gun collection, meaning get the best cash I could. Sold all my Colts - SAA's, Gold Cups, for chump change. Only a hjandful of quality shotguns & rifles. I really don't want to actually go on listing all the others, believe it or not it still raises my hackles to think about it!
Anyway, money situation is better now, I've got a really nice collection, concentrated mainly on doubles. I only have 2 handguns now, as opposed to almost 30. Who needs 'em anyway, right?

You had fun with guns and now you can have fun with your vette. Local dealer told me the average age of vette buyers in his dealership was 55+. Not a young mans car but a car to a man who wishes he was young again and who among us doesn't wish that some days. For the other days you can drive your truck. Enjoy.
