Jerry, thanks anyway but I'm trying to replace an 03A3 body with a smooth-sided 03 one on a custom rifle. Good smooth 1903 receiver but rough 03A3-type bolt body. That's why a bent one is OK, the existing one is already bent. Haven't received the Noske stuff yet, will let you know via PM when more info is available. I bought it under the pretense of it being in VG-Exc condition but.....
1878, you can color me paranoid but it's the 'pre-98 antique' thing. With essentially very little or no difference in strength between the 1896 and 1898 models, I opt for the early model as being less likely to encounter any future federal restrictions. If I already had a 98 model then I wouldn't trade it but now, being actionless, I have the choice (grin). Like I say, you can color me paranoid but it makes me happier.
Brent, both my #2 low wall bbls are pristine inside. One is an original back-bored 22LR similar to yours and the other is a new GM K-Hornet, sorry.
BTW Brent you're funny too but like I tell one of my other friends, looks aren't everything!(VBG)
Regards, Joe
