As far as I know this rifle was considered the epitome of highstyle elegance at the pre WW II Shutzfests held in Germany. Is it over the top in todays world? I certainly think so but looking at this another way I wonder what the craftsmen who made these rifles would think of the plastic laser "engraved" anodized stuff that's in style today?
My carry gun is a Sig Sauer P229 that's deadly efficient and has a built in laser sight. On the other hand it's about as attractive to me as a brick.
Benelli Shotguns, which are in the same brick category, IMO are the "in" gun with the tactical crowd at present.
It's all in your perspective and what you've been exposed to and the opinions we all develop over time.
