The finest checkering cradle around is one designed by Frank DeHass and detailed in The American Rifleman, Jan. 1975, p33.
It is infinitely adjustable, very sturdy, simple to build, and low cost. The entire thing is made from threaded schedule 40 pipe, pipe fittings and some bolts and nuts found at your nearest hardware store. You do need to be able to cut and drill the pipe and braze or solder some simple joints. You can checker pistol grips all the way to a mannlicher stock because of the range of adjustments. Try it you, will definitely like it.
