Brick measure about 3 inches counting the mortar joints. 11 & 1/2 bricks high adds up close to 33 or 34 inches...I clearly remember you said 30 inch tubes. I'm sure Mr.Lowell will put these rumors to an end...lol.

Cause I'm bored I just went out and measured the bricks on my house. 30" covers almost exactly 11 bricks. However if I pull the bottom of the yardstick just a little bit away from the wall 30" appears to cover 13 bricks. Try it you'll see. Heck you could make a pencil appear to cover 13 bricks if you angle the pencil and the camera right.
