I hate to tell you guys this but we use plain old military surplus spec. grease for a lot of our lubrication needs at my gun club. You know; This is the stuff you can buy in pint cans for about $1.00 a pop at most gun shows.
I've also used this same grease for hinge pin lubrication on my doubles for many years and never have had any wear problems.
Some of the stuff I've seen recommended over the years seems to be an expensive solution in search of a problem!!

For those who don't remember, the milky looking GI lube (LSA)is what made M16'a work in VietNam. You cannot buy a finer lube or better corrosion prevention. It is loaded with micronic teflon and that cushions better than MoS. AND it works on everything gun that moves. It's all I use; hinge pins, trigger sears/pivots, choke tubes, whatever.
I must admit that I'm constantly astounded, but not surprised, at the concoctions that people smear on guns. And the trouble they go to for crap. The Feds spent prolly a couple $million getting a lube that would make a third rate weapon function and likely many times that bottling it up and you can buy it for pennies on the $million. Just a thot.
And, motor oil??? Oh, Boy!! Slop some on and make a nice dust sludge.
have a day
