I use "Owens' Hinge Pin Lube", marketed by Ken Owen of Tennessee and maker of big-bore double rifles (901/877-6853). I have no idea what is in this goo; but I have three small plastic canisters and they are apparently going to last me the rest of my lifetime. This is really good stuff, and all it takes is a "little dab". I generally only use this grease at the hinge pin/hook area, and on the top bite/under lug bolting surfaces; but have also used it inside frames to lub moving parts, as it will not run and absorb into the stock head.
