However, apparently the wood was horrible to work (all 3 specialists agreed on this) and we lost a few thou on the outer edge in a couple of places so that there appears to be a gap. A great pity but given the overall cost, I am well pleased.

I paid quite a lot for this...probably over what I should have but I fell in love with it. I pick it up tomorrow. I'll post on a new thread with pictures. I pretty much had to have it...heart over head but there you go. As you can see the barrels are blacked...but I'm almost certain they are damascus. What do you think? Look at the breech.
