After surveying the list of unsold guns, some of them seemed quite appealing to me(at distance), pricewise, as well as in their appearance, like a pair of W. Richards, a pair of H. Atkin and a single Grant. Not big money nor little money, 3500-7000 pound sterling range. I wonder why they remained unsold. Downward market? Out of fashion models? Or some hindden flaws to be found upon inspection and not obvious to the uneducated eye?

Opinions are appreciated.

Thats because they all need a ton of money spent on them to really make them shootable and/or move fast in the retail market.

Remember, the descriptions tend to miss things like loose ribs, cracked firing pins, and in alot of cases, stocks worn dangerously thin (where has the chequering gone?) dimensions that are just not useable (pair of guns with wood figured like floorboards and 3in drop at heel - just doesn't fit the modern gent - restocking a pair of guns in good wood = $$$$).

I have been going to UK gun auctions for many years and bargain can be had but the catalogues are generally shy of the underlying issues. The trade don't want to buy junk and the public are now understanding that remedial work on a gun can be a money pit.

Fletchedpair,

Thanks for your views; the flaws you mention mean trouble in your market, but they could be oportunity elsewhere.

Regards.
