I've owned 3 Jaguar's over the years. The happiest days for me in each case were the day I acquired the car and the day I got rid of it.
This was years ago and the last one,a 12 cylinder XJS, burned through alternators like a torch through metal. In watching the gauges as soon as I saw the ampmeter spike I knew I had 50 miles or less to get it to the garage before total failure of another one.
One family in my neighborhod has two Land Rovers and they seem to be constantly tinkering with them.
I assume everyone on this forum knows why the Brits drink warm beer? Well It's because they have Lucas refigerators of course!!

I have a friend and fellow Vintager who bought one of these old Rangys to drive to SXS shoots. I saw him looking a bit haggard at the Southern one year and he said he was driving it to Deep River and the thing rode so hard it threw his back out. He had to stop on the way and rent a car to finish the trip.
