Alvin Linden Sidelock Joined: May 2011 Posts: 621	Bill: They have surprisingly good lens[CLEAR OPTICS],and the exterior of the blued steel tube was comparable. Where I found them inferior to the Alaskans were in the reticles,the waterproofing and ESPECIALLY the adjustments. I see damaged parts scopes listed on ebay all the time. GOOD LUCK Jerry

Don Moody Sidelock Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 3,205 The Republic of Texas	Which Texan 2.5X scope do you have, one of the two (a .750" & a 1" tube, 1953-1957/58) made by Norman-Ford of Tyler, TX. or the one (a 1" tube, 1958-1964) made by Sovereign Instrument Co. of Dallas, TX? OP rocky mtn bill Sidelock Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 2,098 Likes: 43 MT	Don, The scope I have is the 7/8" tube, 2 1/2X. When I saw it on a show table, I thought at first it was an Alaskan. The price turned out to be so reasonable I bought it anyway. It has extremely fine crosshairs and as small a dot reticle as I've ever seen.
