I had a broken spring on a german guild box lock break and champlain in enid ok did an excellent job fitting a spring to the gun. It actually cocks and shoots more smoothly on the replaced side than on the side that is still original. No difference in the primer strikes either. I recommend JJ and Champlain for the replacement job if your current course does not pan out.

Bumped and a thank you.
Merkel shipped the spring to my smith - it took only a couple days to go from Alabama (or wherever) to Maine. My smith finished the work earlier this week and I picked up the gun today.
I'm very grateful to everyone here at the site for their input on solving this problem. And I have to say Merkel's customer service has disabused me of my prior impression. They were excellent.
