Selling for a friend and need to determine value. Long tang, round knob, 14 1/4 to buttplate. Serial 911x(1935?)28 f&f and 26 1/2 sk&sk both have 3 inch chambers. #2 and #3 under serial numbers on bbls(could this have been a 3 bbl set?) Excellent condition. Thanks.

I don't think they offered the 20 bore until after WW2.

First year Supers came in 20 ga was 1949.That set was made in 1955.
I would say 3500-4500 in value depending on who is selling and buying.

Thanks. I mistakenly looked in the back of my Blue Book and the Superposed numbers are for 12 gauge guns.

Thats a nice set from the pre salt era and no one has messed it up with a pad.The 20's seem to be holding up better then the 12s value wise too.Let us know when and where you list it.

Looks nice. Have you measured the drop at heel and comb? Some of the earlier guns have more drop than considered desirable today. This could affect the value.

The drop at comb is 1 1/2 and heel 2 3/8. lop 14 1/4 to Browning buttplate.
Weight with 28" bbls 6 3/4lbs approx. 2 ozs. less with 26 1/2" bbls.
Thanks.

I don't have any idea about the 2 and 3 stamped with the serial numbers. The gun is very coveted with original hard butt, long tang, round knob stock and early serial number. Yes, it is post war, as are all 20 gauges. The case is not proper for the gun and adds little value. A matching number two barrel set is scarce and valuable, maybe $3600 to $4000. 1955 gun probably, full and full 28" is scarce to rare. I had one, same era, but the chokes had been opened. I sold it for $2100 because of the opened chokes and non original recoil pad. I would kill for an early full and full 28" gun with the chokes intact.

Based on a inspecting 1969 vintage two-barrel set with the barrels marked 1 and 2 under the serial number, I suspect that this was orginially a three-barrel set.

i nice cased set like this used to go for around $4000. these days, more like $3000... however, suggest you put it out on gunbroker and let the market tell you what it is worth.
