He takes the powder out of the canister it comes in and pours it in a generic canister likes he’s been doing for years, and then mislabels it, rifle powder as opposed to shotgun powder. There you have it, 50,000 psi. Then he shoots the first shell of that mislabeled batch, gun blows. As the old saying goes “familiarity breeds contempt.”

Shotgun powders are faster than rifle powders. A mistaken charge of a rifle powder in a shotshell is probably more likely to yield a squib than a high pressure...but you knew that. Now maybe some Bullseye pistol powder....
