max, do you have any Parker-Hale cleaning rod tips? If so, try one and see if it fits. If not, try a US type rod tip and see if it is too large or too small. Also, try some US bolts and see what is too large and what is too small. Maybe we can "nar" this thing down a mite.

Rocketman .Do you mean the stud on the guard its self? I realy dont know ,lets face it it was a long time ago when they were made .Webley's used 1/4 BSF if that helps. I personaly use BA sizes as much as possible if I have to re thread and make new pins.

Rocketman, I just left a bolt and screw warehouse. The guy I dealt with advised that at one time he had been to a gunsmith school. At any rate this place was a monster warehouse of screws and bolts. He gave me several screws that are a close fit. You can turn them maybe one time. They are a little too big and long. At any rate over the weekend I intend to attempt to cut/shape one to fit the best I can. If I am not satisfied with the result any assistance on your end will be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Max

max, you are probably very close toa solution. Most likely you have a screw of very near original diameter, but wrong thread pitch. If this is so, you can buy a relatively cheap tap (bottoming version needed for short screws) and turn it into the hole cutting the needed pitch (actually, you will have a dual pitch hole that will take the OE screw or the new one). Does the new screw have enough "meat" to cut it to fit the counterbore? If you are handy with a file and have a good electric drill, you can probably do well shaping the screw head for a "hanger."
