No, but I use a similar sling that Orvis used to sell that slips over the but and cinched on the pistol grip or wrist. Really only use it when I take the old Fox spring turkey hunting. Otherwise, I've never had a reason to sling my doubles...

Looks like a pretty decent buy @$35 compared to more expensive trinkets that are less useful to shotgunning.

If the keeper's sling you're referring to is the one with a leather loop on each end, I have a definite opinion about them for turkey hunting. Last Spring, I used one I have to tote a heavy Ithaca NID. I set up on the edge of a pasture and called up a gobbler. The bird spooked for some reason and ran off. After an appropriate period of mourning, I re-slung the gun and got up to move to another place. When I stood, the longbeard was in range down the field edge from me. He didn't see me at first and I tried to aim, but the sling loop over the barrels prevented any site picture. I tried to remove the loop, but couldn't do it in my panic. The bird flew and I took a shot ignoring the sling and the invisible front bead. I missed and blame the sling...Geo

Hey George,

The sling I'm referring to has the same barrel attachment as the Galazan Gamekeeper which leaves the rib unobstructed so no sighting issues. I bought it at an Orvis tent sale a few years back for ten bucks so not sure if they sell them any longer.

Jerry

I use one turkey hunting.....if the gun fits you right it only physiologically interferes with your sight picture because your eye should look over the loop.

The one I use I had a buddy make it's nicer than anything you can purchase....I'll get a picture up of it.

If anyone is interested in one I'll see how much he wants and put you in touch with him.

After seeing a nice SxS smack the ground I don't trust one of the slings with the spring steel front.

I usually carry a slip over sling in my vest, that way if the need for 2 hands arises I have it. As I have some artificial joints and a brace, so I get into some problems when grouse hunting. The sling and a folding walking stick get me out of trouble.

If you refer to the one that provides the unobscured rib, I bought one for a heavier 12ga and felt the band was not long enough for secure carry so I sent it back. It would have worked better for a 20ga but I didn't feel the need for it on a lighter gun. Perhaps later on I will?
