Another issue is insurance, which I'm sure goes without saying. UPS will ask what the contents of the box are, if you insure it, I don't think USPS does, just asks if it's explosive or corrosive, something like that.

as to shipping,for unlicensed individual-long guns can go common carrier,or USPS.
For handguns,again for unlicensed individuals,they must go common carrier not USPS,unless you have a FFL(UPS,FedEx-they require next day to to employee theft).Don't be surprised if you gun is returned after repair USPS thou,happens all the time.
