I am very sorry to hear this news. Ed was a straight shooter who I always had good dealings with.

I used D'Arcy Echols to copy a J Blanch & Son back action ejector, both stock and forend. It came to about $650 about a year ago.
The professional hand stocker who did the final inletting was very impressed with how little he had to do to finish it off and apparently the wood looked nice but was horrible to work! (my fault not D'Arcy's)

D'Arcy is a really nice guy and his attention to detail is beyond compare. If I were to have a stock duplicated, it would be done by D'Arcy. It helps that I only live 20 miles from him :-) By the way...D'Arcy has the most well kept, clean & tidy work shop I've ever seen.

I've seen my LGS's work, he's very good. What I saw him do was a Model 8 Remington high grade rifle, and he duplicated it very well. Sent the checkering off, and it was VERY well done at 22 LPI.

His name is Tom and his number, if you're in or around GA, is 706-310-1234. He has a duplicating machine, but it still takes lots of fitting, as you probably know. Plus we're talking at least six months wait.
