I often shoot regular Hevishot or Remington HD in 2 3/4" and 3" loads from my 1930's BSA Wildfowler 3" BLNE gun proven for 1 1/2 oz loads. The previous owner had put in Brileys. I ordered a modified and a full steel compatible tubes from them and everything works fine. It makes a nice rain gun (instead of taking the Benelli SBE II along)and it is quite robustly built with a rather wide action and heavy 30" barrels. It seems to shrug off these rather potent loads.

King !! You've been holding out on us. Where are you finding the Kent TM 2 1/2" loads? Nothing in their website on these loads. These would seem to be ideal for our vintage guns. Only found and used the 2 3/4" Kent TM, mostly with heavy Fox SW #1 barrel, and an LC Longrange. Now both gone. Also hoard a couple boxes of their Pheasant TM for ducks. Appreciate knowing the whereabouts of the Kent 2 1/2" TM.....hopefully it's not a Canadian item only. I bet that's where Destry is getting his and has a stash and not telling anyone where he's finding it. I'm a little over a hour from the border, should I make a run to S.S.M. ONT. and stock up? Randy

Randy, I bought several cases five or six years ago and will inquire at Toronto office after the Labour Day weekend on Tuesday. Pleased to hear you're near the Soo; great hunting and fishing on both sides.

I have used steel in fixed choke BSSs for years, with no ill effects, except to the ducks.
SRH
Hi Stan, How is your BSS choked and what size steel shot are you shooting? Birdog, my BSS is a 30" barreled 3" chambered gun. It came choked .018" right and, I think about .028" left, what they called mod. and full. I opened the left barrel to .018", same as right. No barrel selector on mine, so I had no use for different chokes. A load of 3" no. 3s at about 1450 fps is bad medicine for ducks out of it. I use no.3s for big ducks and no.4s for woodies or teal. SRH
May God bless America and those who defend her.

They are on the website, hidden down in the list under the "Gamebore- English Loads" category. This place seems to have them: http://www.ballisticproducts.com/Gamebor...fo/G1225NTF305/

Don't take my word on their performance, here's 4 boxes of the classic doubles. $15 per box plus the ride. Shoot em as is, pull the shot and load it in something else, whatever. PM me if someone wants em. JW

Not many vintage SxS's in 3" 20 gauge out there....did you take the time to pattern them or just decide they wouldn't kill ?

Stan thanks for the information. Plenty of mallard and teal but no woodies. It is only a matter of time before non-tox is a requirment here, as it already is in England, N.Ireland, Scotland & Wales. I've being thinking of opening one gun to .015 & .020 and will leave the other BSS 30" F&F as is, for now.
