2holer: you are aware that the 'LLH' on your barrels is the mark of Laurent Lochet-Habran, a Belgian barrel maker. This mark has been found on Fox, Lefever, Crescent, Ithaca, and Hunter Arms Smith, Fulton, and "Ranger" for Sears guns.

Excellent analysis overall. Thank you. I agree that cch colors on the Batavia's can be stunning. I passed on a sweet little 16 Batavia last year at a Cabela's that looked near mint. They were asking $800 if I remember correctly.

Yeah Drew, I did notice that I had seen it on picture trail but couldn't remember who it was offhand. Thanks

I pulled the forend iron on the Baker to seal the inletting and found this; a little prevention measure I have never seen.

I have recently acquired an 1893 vintage "New Baker" in 10 gauge. The trigger plate action is unique and exhibited absolutely no indications of wear. The barrels show 90% plus twist pattern with traces of case colors and blue on the receiver and trigger plate. It is a robust gun that should serve me well for many seasons. As the entry-level Baker, it is not as nicely finished as their top-end models, but it is still well made. Cheers!
