Thanks, Mark. I'm not the Krag guy that you are, but I sure was happy when I found the Stoeger gun. One of these days, I'll go out and shoot it.

Thanks for the info Mrk, I've often wondered if they were marked in any way. How about some pix 8bore?

After reading this thread I went back and looked at a Krag varminter I bought in 1999. It has G&H on the receiver and is in 22-3000 2R Lovell. I've never shot it. Anybody want it?

I didn't take it out of the stock. There is a 12 over the G&H and an R-2 under the 22-3000 Thee is an aluminum block on the back of the left side of the receiver and scope blocks on the barrel. No sights. The screw holes are filled with screws at the muzzle end.

The work order number would be on the top of the barrel with the G&H name. Could you post a picture of your rifle?

Drduc, I sent you an email with my address. I don't have any experience with the Stoeger stocks on Krags. I can tell the 1903's by Stoeger and this kind of reminded me of Stoeger, is this what you guy's look like? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=249234711

Michael, The stock on that Krag is stated to be Monte Carlo, which it is not. He must have assumed that the cheek piece meant that it was Monte Carlo.

Mine does not have a barrel band or military sights. Mine is identical in all ways to the catalog gun from 1939.
