I have an Ithaca NID 10ga..serial number 500220..it has 30" barrels and is stamped with the chokes 2 and 4..so M/F..looks to be a factory single non selective trigger..it does have ejectors..BFE..it is a Grade #1..I read that only 58 grade 1's were made? The chokes measure around 20/35 restriction..I'm wondering if the 30" barrels are correct..they seem original to me,but all the other 10ga magnums I have seen were 32"I have a later field grade extractor gun with 32" tubes..any other collectors or anyone with info? Thanks Dennis 620-259-0170 cell...Hello from Kansas

Hello there, Sounds like you have an interesting 10 gauge magnum. I've been watching for one in this configuration for a while. Thisisn't the same gun that was advertised on Guns International a week ago? Stan

Walter Snyder posts on the Ithaca Collectors Forum on shotgunworld.com. He may be able to tell you about the original configuration of this gun.

30 inches is correct for this gun.

That is great news. This is one rare gun. What is the serial number of your "field grade later gun"? I just found a late Field Grade that my friend, Mr. Snyder, helped me authenticate. Mine is #500,884.

At the recent Big Reno Show there was a Magnum-framed 12-gauge 3-inch Field Grade with a straight grip stock, single non-selective trigger and Hawkins recoil pad. I don't think the Ithaca "bridge trestle" pad was ever made large enough for the Magnum-Frame stocks. The down side was some Nimrod had used steel shot in it and both barrels were bulged just in back of the chokes. Sorry, but once I saw the bulges I didn't record the serial number or the barrel length.

Dave,
Don't tell Bruce Day about that steel shot bulged Ithaca. He thinks it's perfectly ok to shoot steel in vintage guns so I'm waiting patiently for him to do this to one of his.

I have owned 3 all 32" guns. I currently have #500420. It came with non original wood so I had it properly restocked to a LH straight grip/splinter with No-shoc pad, single trigger, ejectors, 32" barrels choked .022/.032. This gun was deadly with 1 3/4 oz. of Federal Tungsten Polymer #6s its first barrel last year in Quebec pass shooting mallards and in Maryland for Canadas using #2s in the same loading. Askins Sr. and Keith were right. These are terrific waterfowl guns and deserve legendary status like the Fox HE. Has anyone ever seen a 34" NID 10g Magnum?

My second cousin in Minnesota had a 34-inch No. 1E Magnum-Ten Ithaca. I hope his son still has it. Some years ago, Steve Barnett had this No. 1E Magnum-Twelve, serial number 500155, with 34-inch barrels for sale --
