I just got through working my bird dogs on pen raised quail this morning. My wife, son, and I are leaving for Montana this week. I am going to run my dogs in a field trial and then we will chase huns and fish.
Speaking of bird dogs and fishing I used to have a bird lease that had a creek running through it. During dove season in the middle of the day we would fish the creek for perch and bass and let the bird dogs run wild. My old English Pointer Dutch, after watching a few catch and releases, went to fishing. He would stand in water and wait for a fish to swim by. I never saw him catch one but it wasn't from lack of focus or effort.
