A gun in the 106000 range would be a 1901 vintage gun. The VH-grade was introduced in 12-gauge only just a few years earlier and by then was offered in 12-, 16-, 20- and 28-gauges. I don't find the VH-/VHE-Grade offered in 10-gauge until the Remington years, and then at an extra charge. The circa 1913 "Flying Ducks" catalogue, under the VH-/VHE-Grade listing, even includes the line "Not supplied in 10-gauge."
