Salopian, I would be asking questions; and big ones too! It's either straight theft and/or someone has an illegal collection of firearms. Lagopus.....

In the 1970,s the City of Birmingham refurbished the, "old/new' buildings on Price Street,in part to provide a home for active members of the gun trade, displaced by urban renewal and/or the ring roads, but of equal importance, Council of the day wished to restore a representative section of the"Historic Gun Quarter" as a virtual living museum. One wonders if the present City Council appreciates the tourist potential of the gun quarter. The growth in interest in vintage/modern guns of English/Birmingham manufacture in North America during the past two decades has been amazing.Publications such as the Double Gun Journal and clubs such as the Vintagers, have awakened a very keen interest in vintage and modern sporting guns. Many of the participants in this forum have likely already visited the Birmingham gun quarter if not they would almost certainley like to do so.
In my case, over the past 40 years I have made almost annual visits to Birmingham and the gun quarter,in doing so it follows that funds were spent on hotels, food, cars etc; to say nothing of guns and the shopping spree that my wife enjoyed during these visits. By promoting the gun quarter as a living museum I believe that the City of Birmingham could make a meaningful contribution to the cities economy.
