That's interesting, you say 1963 have signed up at 9.27pm.
I log on five hours later and register and we get 1396 have signed, so I must be 1397?
Years ago we had The Birmingham Science Museum, in there was a complete tableau of the Gunmaking trade with a workshop re-created also many many shotgun exhibits donated by W&C Scott, Greener, Westley Richards,Parker Hale etc., Then one day it was all gone, me being inquisitive asked where it was? 'Oh it's been 'stored' Me being inquisitive asked where the guns were? Embarrassed, shuffling of feet, mumbling, but no answer. Me being inquisitive asked Westley Richards if they had received their exhibits back? 'No' was the reply. Me being inquisitive asked the Curator, a good friend of mine, where the guns were. 'Don't ask awkward questions please you will get me into trouble'
Some Birmingham City Councillor has probably got a very nice collection locked away somewhere.
Instead of renaming it St. Chads the Council should be resurrecting the Gun Quarter and making it a tourist attraction, it is a World Heritage site just going begging for a little TLC.
Perhaps the Birmingham tax payers should be made aware how much this is costing and then be informed that recently the same Council assisted and contributed with funding to assist Westley Richards to move workshops from Bournville, INTO the Gun quarter???
Politics beggar belief.
