I've only seen it happen on short chamber Charlins that were being fed full house loads, Lapin. It can leave the user in a soiled pants condition, but, true enough, the over center device can't open all the way. If you are stupid enough to shove 1 1/4 ozs of big number loads into your short chambered, 6 lb Charlin 12, you deserve soiled pantys.
I do recall the pics of that gun of yours, and prefer to think of it in a "form follows function" 'kinda way, which, is a nice way of saying it's ugly, but, whatever works.
Another thing I thought of, but, forgot to post until now, is, that you should ONLY be able to fire a Charlin with the lever all the way closed-if you can get it to go off with the lever up out of battery, even a 1/16 of an inch, have that old girl looked into. Lever closed on ignition is pretty important on a Charlin, and there is a mechanism in place to ensure that.
There's probably some other important thing I should type about, but, that's all I've got right now. I'll think about it some more.
Best,
Ted
