When I saw the title of this thread I thought it meant the 'rocks' or overpriced junk that CSMC couldn't sell. I would rather have a legitimate Model 24 Winchester with it's less than beautiful 'looks' than anything CSMC produces.

I'm quite sure CSMC is perfectly satisfied that they don't have you and your tastes to deal with either. A Model 24!? Really?

You misunderstand. I feel like I was smart NOT to leave a deposit. No one on the Parkerguns.org site has gotten the barrels yet. Has anyone here received them? I don't care who did or did not leave a depost; I care that CSMC doesn't do what they say they will, and takes deposits on things and then doesn't follow through. Bad for customer confidence!

Oh John, CSMC did indeed try to 'get' me once on a gun deal. It was more than enough of a lesson for me not to deal with them again! To be frank, I wouldn't even buy a box of shotgun shells from them.

Ive seen a lot of RBLs that had excellent wood to metal fit. Granted its their lowest line but take a look at their custom (bespoke) Fox guns they build, everyone I know that has one loves it. Some of them treat their Fox guns with kid gloves others beat the living $hit out of them and never have a problem. Spend the money, you wont regret it.

It might be their lower end, but I like mine just fine.

I think I'm detecting a little snippiness when it comes to CSMC here. They've always treated me well so that's hard to understand.

Friends:
As someone who HAS received the 28-bore barrels that I put money on 18 months ago, I must say that CSMC has done right by me so far. There were minor issues with these barrels, so I returned them a week ago.

And thanks to the help of a wonderful lady named Carol Torneo in the CSMC offices, I'm confident all will be well. After this long, what is a few more weeks?

In comparison to other sources, at least CSMC offered the option of getting an extra set of barrels - and followed through. Others withdrew.

I will update things when I get the barrels back. Meanwhile, "think good thoughts."

Best Kensal

I think Tony is to be commended for trying to keep American fine gun manufacturing alive. Compared to a Purdey, an RBL sucks-- but there's 96k difference in price.

The Mod 21's though I think he's getting a little ahead of himself on price. I'd rather have a real one at today's prices

Frankly I'd rather shoot and do shoot an RBL than a Purdey.
I won't debate the reasons for my choice of an RBL over a Purdey but I also have a CSMC M21 and a CSMC Fox and have voted with my money rather than purchase someone else's idea of a quality firearm.
BTW you can't get a real M21 in the 'Baby' frame that CSMC produces. A Winchester branded M21 28 gauge will go over 7#'s, I have a CSMC 28 gauge M21 at 5# 13oz with steel heel and toe plates. Plain butt, that gun would be about 5# 10oz.-Dick
