As much as I love books when Im doing research I find more from the magazines than books.
I started early both collecting indices and magazines. I have the reprint edition of Rifle and Shooting and Fishing, these were a weekly from about 1880-1906. Next came Arms and the Man from 1906 until 1923 which was published every two weeks. I have a good collection of AATM but not all. Next are the American Rifleman from 1923 until present, I have them all except for about fifteen years ago when I started throwing them out. I now save maybe one or two a year.
The magazines I have found with the most information for my interest of American custom guns are the Outers Books from 1910- to around 1918? I have a good collection of them but not all so Im always looking for ones I dont have.
I have many duplicates of both Arms and the Man and Outers Book that I would trade for same I dont have.
