Precision Reloading sells primed 2.5" Cheddites. I received 500 Monday. They list them as out of stock today. Sorry.

I use a 10" hardwood dowel and disposable Xacto Knife blades to trim shells. Place dowel in shell until it bottoms out. Mark dowel at shell top. Measure amount below that mark the amount shell needs trimming. At that mark, drill small hole perpendicular to dowel shaft. Insert point of blade into hole and hold blade in place with thumb and dowel with the same hand. With other hand twist shell on dowel, cutting shell as the shell is turned. When it bottoms out, it's done. If you need a photo, I'll take one latter today and post.

Graf also sells 2.5" primed Cheddite hulls, including paper!

I use the same trimming method as GLS except I install a round head screw in the end of the dowel to allow for trim length adjustment for different hull base wads.

That's why I asked if RST were Cheddites. Cheddites have stars and so does RST.

Anywho, I just reloaded some 2 1/2" 16 ga RSTs using the Cheddite stats from Hodgdon. If something is wrong, can't hurt too much as they are only 7500 psi.

I made one with a screw in the end so that it can be adjusted - it works great.

RST hulls are Cheddite. Also, I sent a group of hulls to Tom Armbrust to test - all components in the low pressure load were the same except the hull. In 16 gauge the RST, Australian Winchester, Nobel Sport, B&P, Fiocchi and Federal plastic with paper base wad all produced pressures that were essentially the same and I now treat them all as interchangeable with that particular load. The Remington RGL hull produced significantly higher pressures as I had expected it would.
