Joe,
I see what you mention....
But to the degree you deride it, I do not agree.
Very nice work Mr. Hurst, others too, and overall very nice gun.
Hope you shoot it well and often IM.

I'm glad to see somebody who was pleased with the work of Mr. Hurst. He recently did some work for me and I was somewhat less than impressed with the finished product. As of today, multiple requests for an explanation have been ignored. Once he had my money in hand and I had the item back, I never heard another word from him though I've called and written several times. I'd always heard good things about him from others, liked some of what I'd seen posted here, but the quality of the work and my experience were both far from positive.

Nice to see a custom job like that. Great that you have a one-off gun that has special meaning to you. I have some space in a safe if it needs a home!

As to the un-engraved screws, it is a Parker and that is the way they are, or did you not know that Mr. Cox? The action screws, as well as the ends of the hinge pin were typically engraved on original Parker Bros. A-1 Special (Grade 8) guns. As you know, you never say never when it comes to Parkers. Parker Bros. was a very customer conscious and oriented company, they would build them as the buyer wanted them, if an A-1 buyer would like his action screws and hinge pin to be sans the engraving, they would accomodate him.
