Hi There I bought a case of 16g 1oz target shells to run through my 16g. They are 2 and 3/4 length. Problem is, my very well made but old shotty does not give any indication of chamber size. There are no stampings on the flats or the receiver. I dont have gear for measuring chambers, how else can I work it out? I suspect the gun is late 1800's vintage.

What is it about these old guns that draws us in?
