Franc, I dont mind hare or rabbit, nor do my kids. My Dogs like them even more!
RE: The Fox - in Australia, the fox is an introduced species with no natural predators. It has affected populations of native birds and animals adversely. It also creates a problem for farmers by killing lambs, and given we are in a country area, the chickens tend to get knocked off as well. The property I shoot on uses 1080 poison, If the fox eats that it dies a slow death.
I used to hunt allot more, these days I shoot mostly clay targets. I shot these critters to help out the property owner, a farmer, who also donated their land for out sporting/ down the line club.
Since becoming a dad 10 years ago, I dont like to kill things without a reason. But I dont feel bad about killing foxes and rabbits.
