Leave it be and assign it to the Lender/Foul Weather/Travel/Beater department in your battery.

Then you'd have made a nice deal. Don't pump it up with expectations the gun can't deliver on.

Besides, I've seen some of your guns, ones you use and ones you've sold. A lot of beautiful guns. Most have been a lot more worthy of tweaking.

Seems like it'd been worth a few hundred bucks to have it put back on face at that price.

Jackson Armory in Dallas had a nice Miroku sidelock in a higher grade than the subject one when I was there in May.

If you're talking the ones imported under the Charles Daly name, or certainly the guns Miroku made for Browning, I agree on the weight. However, you will find 12ga sxs marked just Miroku that do weigh in the 6 1/2-6 3/4# range. I've owned a couple Miroku boxlocks that fit that description. One in particular looked for all the world like a pretty plain Birmingham boxlock nonejector: straight/splinter/DT. That's one I wish I'd kept. The most recent one I owned fit that description other than having a PG instead of a splinter. Weighed 6/11 with 28" barrels.

Yes, I, too, believe he made a mistake not spending the money to get it properly repaired. That one was a bargain.
