I found this listed in the catalog of a local auction house described as "Parker Brothers 12 Gauge Shotgun on a O frame" What can you tell me about this shotgun from this description and the photo?

I can tell you that it is obviously the Trogen Model, the lowest grade hammerless Parker; and if on an "O" frame, then it is a 20-bore. For anything else, you need a serial number and detailed photos.

It appears the auction house has an error or two in their description of this Trojan. 12-gauges were built on a 2-frame, 20's on an 0-frame and 16's on a 1-frame. It's hard to tell for certain, but I'm bettin' that it's a 12 on a 2-frame. I could be wrong of course.

Looks like an unaltered 12 gauge Trojan without a buttplate in very average field used condition. Probably some water damage in the butt area. With original length barrels and good bores, you could feel safe bidding $550. It's no collectors item, but probably a nice shooter.

It does have a buttplate Eightbore---it's easy for us iPad-ers to blow it up and see it.

Hopefully I can get a look at it before the auction as that is not until July! Serial number would give help with the age, look for tight lock up and un-pitted barrels. Anything else?
Thanks Corkdecoy
