I have a Greener project. It is a damascus gun from the 1890s. I plan to have the barrels refinished, take care of some minor lock-up problems and re-stock with a nice piece of English Walnut. Now to the safety question. All the Greeners with side safeties I've ever seen had the safety aligned with the axis of the bore. This gun's safety is cocked to the right several degrees. I have not looked inside yet to see, but is there a possibility that I could have the safety straightened up when the gun is restocked? I am curious if there is a mechanical reason that it can't be done.
