I just have to comment on the 28ga. This the guage I decided to start my grandson on. His first one at age 11 was an SKB 500 26" with skeet chokes as it tuned out they were a mite tighter than that maybe WS-2. Any way after 2 sessions with station 1&7 only he shot his first complete round of skeet and turned in an 18. Sure shamed my friend that talked him into shooting with him to give him my grandson a few pointers. (he shot a 16). A few weeks later he went to a kids only pheasant shoot, over a pointer. The first one up he smoked but the comotion stirred a second bird. The gentlemen who was running the shoot was just starting to yell don't shoot as he shot and clobbered the bird at about 30 yards. 2 shots 2 birds.
That season he got a nice brace of chuckers 2 shots 2 birds. The same with ducks only more shots and more birds.
But the best was the pigeon shoot (box birds) He was advised by the old timers do not expect to kill much with that short barrelled open choke but go for it anyway. He did miss the first 2 he was just to careful. The next 2 he killed but they were out of the ring. Then I said to him Liam smoke those suckers as soon as you can see their heads out of the box! Well the next 6 were just that, a cloud of feathers. My long time friends were now very interested in that gun and what sort of shells he was using. Of course I was told bring him to shoot for me as he sure does it better. Oh well I'll take that what proud grandpa wouldn't.
One of these days I'll tell you about the first time he pulled the trigger on a rifle.
Regards
