I still think Hatfield has been primarily an importer rather than a "gunmaker". It has been my understanding and experience that his early muzzleloaders were mostly made by Pedersoli, sort of on the QT, and the latter ones even said Pedersoli on top of the barrels. To compare his operations to those of Bill Ruger, who actually designed AND made the guns he sold, is ridiculous. Of course, I could be wrong. And, I do wish him well in his latest "gunmaking" venture. Does he wear a turban, now?

Turks wear turbans even less frequently than Frenchmen wear berets, Jim. If he wanted to be really old-fashioned, he could probably wear a fez though. Think Sydney Greenstreet in "Casablanca".

That's true! But was Sydney G. a Turk? I thought he was in Casablance for a Shriners' convention.

"Americans seem to always want high quality at a cheap price and will spend $30 in gas on a Saturday driving around to save $15 on something they need."

Dave M. - God you are so right! Best yet - a neighbor routinely drives about 45 min. to buy gas at a .03 on the gallon savings! KBM
