My G&H Sporter in .35 Whelan has barrel no 197- believe it was ordered in 1940-- it shoots like a house afire, and will be my elk rifle numero uno- numero duo being my M71 in .348-- Anyone ever compare the effectual ballistics of those loads with 250 grainers in ballistic gelatin? I shot a black bear in the Yoop back in Nov 2001- big somabitch too- shoulder shot at 50 yards (est'd) spun him like a big black top before he fell over- then a finisher in the ear 'for insurance"--
