Does anyone have any info on the Beretta 686 Live Bird gun?

There is a nice looking one for sale in town and I may be interested in purchasing it.

It is a 12 ga, 28" bbls, Beretta choke tubes.

No 28" gun is an acceptable box bird gun in the U.S. However, 28" guns were once popular for box birds in Italy but not those that sell for $1200.

This is one model I am not familiar with, in the Beretta family of O/U shotguns.

Thanks for the input and I will keep your comments in mind when dealing with this individual. I have known the seller for many years and trust that he will be upfront and forthright in any potential sale. If not, well then one lives and learns through guidance and experience.

It may be possible to purchase it then find a set of barrels from Coles that are 30".

Not worth the effort. One of the best heavy duty comp guns available on the planet is a 30" Model 686 Sporting. I paid $1100 for my last one, new. You won't approach that price if you start trading parts. A short barrel 686 with field rib is an $800 gun in most markets. The Sporting stock, wide rib, and 30" barrels make all the difference in the world in a shooting gun, but you will pay a couple hundred more for that combination.
