The Southern was great fun again this year. The big storms cleared out just in time for a very nice weekend, perhaps the nicest weather for the Southern I can remember.

Vendor participation continues to be strong Lots of great guns to see at all price ranges. Very good to see that Francis Lovel, new owner of Atkin Grant & Lang, is still participating in the event.

I had a great time. Talked to a lot of nice people, save a bunch of nice guns. I posted pics to my site.

Phail's 4g Reilly SxS was awesome.

BTW: does anyone know who had the L.C. Smith A2 with the 32" bbls and no safety? I think the dealer was right across from Mid South.

Thanks

OWD

Gregg: Did you see the 4-bore E.M. Reilly that you put me on to?
It was on the Parker Exhibit table just above McPhail's. I wish that I had known you were there. i wanted to thank you & buy you a cold one. I believe that you saw the gun before I had Jim Kelly redo the barrels. Bill & I planned to each bring our 4-bore Reillys and take them out to the dove field, but we couldn't come up with any ammo.

Best Regards, George

Could the men that were going to have more fun turkey hunting, put up some pix or tell us about their adventures? Must be their states only have turkey season on April 29 to May 1.

I've been going for years and it seemed like there were more vendors and more people there this year than I can ever remember. Interest in guns seemed high - several vendors I talked to had either sold guns or had alot of interest. I bought a Hulme gun case and drooled over an Abbiatico & Salvenelli O/U that I can't afford (but seem to be still thinking about every day since).
