I would be happy to correct that for him, or find it a new home, either way. That is, if either option would be of interest. I'm a sucker for a farky with problems, especially a Gibbs.

I appologise for not checking the number of sides on my gun. it has 8 so it is octagonal!!! Senior moment!!

Talking about the ruination of good rifles in England, I once went ito KD Radcliffe's gunshop in my home town, Colchester, UK and the owner showed my a lovely Gibbs Farquharson rifle, converted to a 28 ga single barrel shotgun.
Sad, but difficult to own as a rifle over there.

I've been after him to rectify the situation, I've even offered to take it off his hands but it was one of his grandpa's guns and he's keeping it.

I did send him the links to you and some other gunsmiths. He thinks he need a genuine Gibbs bbl. I've tried to explain that isn't important but so far he's not moved on fixing it.

If the gun is a top tang safety model(not likely), I would be willing to do the work for practically nothing. I'm dying to get one apart.
