Outstanding restoration to put the old rifle back in the shape it deserves. You did good. I always like to see the old mistreated Winchesters saved.

Nice work, pleased that you posted the pics. I have a mate to that in 32-20 given to me by my father-in-law, well kept and not misused. I would gather the Win. collectors would / will flinch at a refurb but after seeing your pics. it certainly is tempting. --- John Can.

Years ago, before I knew as littlle as I do know I was the Kittery trading postt in Maine. I found a 3 digit serial numbered M94, a first year of production! My first tip off should have been it was a 30-30 which wasn't introduced until a few years later.
Turns out it was original from the breech back, the gun had been rebarrled with a modern barrel and forend. It left the factory as a 38-55 rifle.
I have alway's wanted to put it right, you just may have inspired me...thanks, beautiful work
