Anyone have a first hand report from Sanford and the Deep River facilities? I hope they are all ok.

Very bad damage in the Sanford area with some fatalities. I think that Deep River was a little north of the storm and hopefully things are ok there. Just rain and thunder here in Southern Pines, about 20 miles south of it all. Prayers for those whose lives have been blown apart!

Eastern NC was hit hard, with 21 fatalities and 130 seriously injured. The Lowe's Home Improvement Store was destroyed, there was a picture in our Winston-Salem paper today.
From what I read on the LC Smith site, no damage to Deep River however.

The Q.I. is also OK. The desk clerk said most Damage was on the South end of town.

Got an email from my brother this morning. He lives across the bay from Newport News, VA. He said there was a tornado 5 miles from him. He got heavy rain, wind, and lots of lightning. Raleigh, NC got some heavy damage from a storm that also went carried over to Wakefield, VA, Williamsburg and Glousester county.
The storm system made the news on my local radio station in L.A. this morning. They reported 21 fatalities in NC and about double that from the overall system. Terrible distruction of life and property.

I got an e-mail from Deep River today and they said that the "worst damage missed us" and that they are open for business as usual.
Our prayers go out to those in Sanford who were not so fortunate.
