It was made in 1926, as Daryl stated. It was proofed for Nitro. It appears to have the mark of Charles Gillet. Charle Gillet was a little known gun dealer in what once called Poulseur. He had relatives involved in the gun trade who were located in Liege and Herstal.

The crown over R indicates a rifled barrel and is clearly marked .405 caliber. The remaining proof marks are for the shotgun barrels. The shotgun was chambered for 12ga 2 1/2" shells.
