Dennis is the guy that restocked the Fox and he might be able to answer some of your questions. I believe he said that the forend to the gun was original and just the butt stock was changed but I could be wrong. In any event it is a very nice gun at a very good price. In spite of all the nay sayers there aren't many gun safes with a Fox DE in them. Doug Mann
